About LanHomeTech

LanHomeTech builds free, practical estimating tools for exterior home projects. Our siding calculators started from a simple frustration: most online estimators either oversimplify (one box for the whole house) or hide their math, leaving you unsure whether to trust the number. We wanted a tool that treats a house like a house — separate walls, gable ends, and openings — and shows every step so you can check it.

What we build

Our calculators convert real wall measurements into the units siding is actually ordered in: squares, panels, boards and boxes, plus an accessory takeoff and a realistic installed-cost range. Everything runs in your browser, nothing needs an account, and your recent calculations stay private on your own device.

Who it's for

Homeowners planning a re-side, DIYers buying material, and contractors sketching a quick quote all use the same underlying engine. Whether you're pricing vinyl, James Hardie fiber cement, cedar, metal or engineered wood, the method is consistent and transparent.

Our approach to accuracy

We base coverage and waste guidance on standard exterior-takeoff practice and published manufacturer installation guidance, and we're explicit that our output is a well-grounded planning estimate — not a substitute for a field measure or a contractor's quote. When something is an assumption, we say so.
